Hadi (Ashkan) Osanloo was a 33-year-old animal rights supporter and an only child who lived in Tehran. Known for his compassion toward animals, he was a single man who became a victim of the state's crackdown on protesters during the events of early 2026. On January 9, 2026, while participating in protests on Piroozi Street, Hadi was cornered by security forces in an alley. He was shot at close range with a shotgun, with reports indicating that approximately 60 pellets struck his chest. He also suffered fatal wounds to his neck inflicted by a cutter during the confrontation. Following his death, Hadi's body was identified by his family through a photograph at the Kahrizak facility. He was laid to rest on January 14, 2026, in Section 96 of Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery.
